內容簡介: Essays follow rapidly proliferating and resource-intensive Indian urbanism in everyday environments. 德州酒吧變教堂 建物成地標
【台灣醒報記者莊瑞萌綜合報導】聲色場所的酒吧，變成撫慰人心的聖殿。美國德州一間教會日前花費300萬美元將當地一間大型酒吧買下並改建成教堂。新教堂預計2016年12月前可以對外開放。教會牧師也希望新教堂成立後，可以吸引更多人前來禮拜。
這間是敖德薩當地最大間的酒吧，已經營業逾18年，一共佔地3.5萬平方英呎，是在去年4月因為從酒吧轉型為演唱會場地後傳出財務危機。德州敖德薩石門基督教會日前則將該酒吧買下，經過大幅度整修後將以教堂之姿重新出現。
教會牧師麥克雷諾斯表示，「我們鎖定那個地點已經很久了，因為地點與建築物大小都適當，而且該建案是明顯地標。」未來改建工作包括移除所有內部牆壁，並興建大型講道空間以及兒童使用空間及會議室等，另外，酒吧的外觀也會完全整修。
另一位牧師布拉德也希望，新教堂完工後可吸引更多人前往禮拜，目前教會聚會人數為400人。他也對未來的新教堂寄以厚望，「我們希望帶來成長，而且新教堂人數也能有所增長。」
在1999年成立的石門基督教會目前則在當地一所學校聚會，教會過去17年來人數大幅成長，甚至有人每個星期日開車24公里前來參加教會禮拜。教會禮拜共有9點及10：30兩堂，總人次為700人。麥克雷諾斯則表示，希望新教堂完工後，也可以開始在中午再舉行第三堂禮拜。
無獨有偶，德州聖安東尼奧的西部城市教會(City Church West)目前也選擇在當地一間酒吧內聚會。根據教會官網指出，教會就在酒吧裡頭，而且每個週日，這裡只供應飲料與咖啡。
